Khabar Lahariya is an award-winning independent grassroots media organisation heralding a feminist news revolution, and delivering real rural reporting to our readers. As the country’s only marginalized women-run news platform we train rural women as professional journalists to amplify their voices that get lost in the din.
The support of our readers’ community has helped us grow since our inception- from starting as a local print newspaper in 2002 to launching our website in 2013, from going digital and starting our youtube channel in 2015 to launching our first subscription model SF4G in 2019.
As we’ve progressed we feel that we can offer much more to our subscribers with a revamped, all new avatar of subscriptions at KL - KL Hatke.
Every fortnight we churn out stories from the small towns and villages of north India’s hinterlands, covering political trends and shifts in sexuality, education, entertainment, employment, violence, caste, religion, and much more. Our stories are reported and written through a feminist lens, with a particular emphasis on how these issues touch upon the lives of women and youth.
Your premium subscription ensures that we continue to invest in women as journalists, you ensure that ‘her story creates history’. India’s rural watchdog is helming a grassroots media revolution. Subscribe now for the most in-depth, informative reportage from a part of India that’s too small for mainstream media to cover.
